» Apparel Add-on for ProductCart

The Apparel Add-On gives stores using our ProductCart ecommerce software the ability to handle inventory for product variations (e.g. color/size combinations). This is something that is typical of the apparel industry (yep, that's why we called it that way), but it applies to other industries as well. What does this mean? For example, if size 32/34 of a pair of black pants is out of stock, the customer is notified.

The Apparel Add-On can be easily added to any store running ProductCart v2.62 and above. It includes a number of features that make it easy to create and run a great looking, powerful online clothing store. A few of them are described in the image below.

• Automatically show a different product image when customers click on a color swatch. The Apparel Add-On adds new features to your ProductCart-powered storefront. For example, it allows customers to view different variations of a product's image based on different colors, different styles, etc. ProductCart lets you associate an image with each options (e.g. color swatches: you can associate a small red square with the option "red"). When customers click on it, the image changes accordingly. See for yourself >>
• Automatically prevent customers from ordering out-of-stock product variations. When a selection is made from the first option (e.g. color: "Mountain Red", see image above), the second drop-down (e.g. size: "M") is instantly updated, without refreshing the page. If any of the available combinations (e.g. "Mountain Red/S", "Mountain Red/M", etc.) is out of stock, ProductCart will either show a custom out of stock message, or hide the selection. It's up to you, as this setting can be configured on a product by product basis.
• Define each product variation. For each product variation (e.g. color/size combinations), you can specify a part number, a general image, a detail view image, a price differential (e.g. Add $5 for all XXL sizes), and the stock level. The Apparel Add-On equips ProductCart's Control Panel with a number of tools that allow you to quickly create and efficiently manage all product variations.
• Set quantity discounts for each product variation. For additional sales flexibility, you can set individual quantity discounts for each product variation. This allows you, for instance, to place all "small" sizes of a certain sweater "on sale" without altering the main product's price.
